While I agree with you somewhat in the sense that the steam deck is not (and more so cannot) competing for those that NEED or CRAVE that Nintendo experience. However, that being said, it is throwing its hat into the ring and really shaking up the marketplace for handheld gaming quite a bit. I really hope Nintendo takes notice because they really coasted on people double dipping on WiiU ports and ports all around this gen. I enjoyed village for what it was, but didn’t really enjoy it as a resident evil game. After the massive success that was REmake 2, I was excited to see more of that. Especially considering how well it sold, I figured capcom would make a huge push for that and kinda put the series back in the direction of real horror. When I saw the trailer, the first two things I thought were 1) This is some really bad dialogue... Neither the fantasy style nor modern style of dialogue seems right... it all feels like poor fanfiction of famous series.
2) The Voice Acting seems nigh Troll 2 levels... The fantasy characters are WAYYYYY over the top and the modern main Character acts as though she's mildly annoyed to be put into this situation.
The gameplay looks decent, but unfortunately the main character and the writing seem really out of touch. It's like the main character seems annoyed to be here rather than astonished or shocked. The other dialogue seems really bad too. Rather than having two distinct styles it kinda sounds like one bad writer who doesn't know how to write modern dialogue or fantasy dialogue...
As a person who plays on both, and has been building gaming PCs for over a decade now... there is still a huge difference between PC and console gaming at every end of the spectrum.
If you're just looking to set things up and play games casually, for the most part it is quite simple. You can buy a pre-made, have it mostly ready out of the box for you, go through initial setup and you're good... however... there are still a ton of things that can and, over time, will...
While I enjoyed the gameplay in 8, the story and emphasis on just over the top action made it feel like we were going back to resi 5&6 days. Which is sad considering 2 Remake sold 8.1M, showing that a good story and emphasis on horror is what fans expect from the series...
I’ve had 3 of these (returned one and had another exchanged). First was due to drift, second was due to the trigger sticking (another common issue). They are an absolute waste of trash. They don’t work with steam link despite the regular controllers working. Their Bluetooth is by far the weakest of all the controllers I’ve used, and while the build quality is nice, the d-pad is still terrible…

This has marketing hype written all over it. Saying it has 100 towns is the marketing equivalent of saying most of them are the same and will be a copy/paste job to save time and money with tons of repetitious quests resulting in the most trivial of rewards.
If this gen and last gen has taught me anything, it's that most games boasting the quantity of quests/missions are often doing so because they lack and quality or polish.
